Direktur Atletik dan CEO Champions Blue J. Batt mencari seorang eksekutif untuk mengawasi manajemen pemain di seluruh UK Athletics. Posisi tersebut terdaftar sebagai executive associate athletics director for player management.
Batt membahas rencana perekrutan tersebut pada hari Kamis dalam pertemuan Champions Blue Board of Governors di Louisville. Posisi ini akan berperan dalam pendekatan Kentucky terhadap name, image, likeness serta pembagian pendapatan bagi atlet mahasiswa.
“As we look at the continued evolution of student-athlete NIL and rev-share, one of the areas in which there is an opportunity to create competitive advantage is in both the construction of and the evaluation of those dollars,” ujar J. Batt kepada www.aseaofblue.com.
Pertemuan tersebut merupakan yang pertama bagi J. Batt sejak tiba di Lexington pada musim panas ini. Presiden UK dan Champions Blue Board Chairman Eli Capilouto memuji dampak awal dari kepemimpinan Batt.
“J’s first month on the job has reinforced our belief that we made the right choice at the right time,” ujar Eli Capilouto kepada LEX18.
“He has moved quickly to build relationships, establish priorities, and bring together people across our athletics department, campus, and Commonwealth. As college athletics continues to evolve, his vision, energy, and commitment to Kentucky position us well for the future,” lanjut Eli Capilouto kepada LEX18.
Dewan juga mendengar pembaruan dari berbagai pihak mengenai momentum bisnis, inisiatif penghasilan pendapatan, kesuksesan atlet mahasiswa, investasi fasilitas, dan perencanaan jangka panjang. Batt menyoroti momentum positif di seluruh departemen dan prioritas yang berpusat pada kesuksesan atlet mahasiswa.
“What has become clear very quickly is that Kentucky possesses one of the most passionate and engaged fan bases in college athletics,” ujar J. Batt kepada LEX18.

Batt memberikan rincian lebih lanjut mengenai peran manajemen pemain yang sedang dibuka oleh departemen tersebut. Batt menyatakan bahwa NIL dan rev-share merupakan area yang memiliki peluang untuk menciptakan keunggulan kompetitif.
“competitive advantage is in, uh, both the construction of, uh, and the evaluation of those dollars,” ujar J. Batt kepada LEX18.
Batt menambahkan bahwa memiliki seseorang dengan keahlian dalam menegosiasikan kontrak tersebut sangatlah penting. Evaluasi yang kuat diperlukan untuk melihat bagaimana anggaran tersebut dibelanjakan dan tampil di lapangan.
“Having somebody with expertise in that, negotiating those contracts is important, but also developing a robust evaluation of how those dollars are spent and how those dollars perform as they translate on the on-field court, etc. success,” ujar J. Batt kepada LEX18.
CEO Beyond Blue LLC Craig Collins menyampaikan pembaruan keuangan terkait rencana finansial Champions Blue untuk membangun investasi jangka panjang. Anggota dewan juga mendengarkan paparan dari Presiden JMI Sports Paul Archey serta Associate Vice President UK Kevin Locke.
“Kentucky Athletics is open for business,” ujar J. Batt kepada LEX18.
